Designed by David McArdle himself and built from scratch by him and his team, it has taken a year of hard work, thorough planning, and passionate attention to detail to complete one of McArdle & Co.'s proudest homes.

David poured his heart and soul into this project. This home beautifully balances the refinement of a dream home with the comfortable and cozy environment a home should have.

This chandelier actually has twine wrapped around it!

This house has two levels and a basement, consisting of three upstairs bedrooms, a master bedroom on the main level, and two rooms full of bunk beds in the basement. Coming up these steps, one can look to their right and see a breathtaking view of the lake off the window across the balcony.

Walking along this wrap-around porch made me feel so small! With a couple 6-seater tables and ample walking space around them, it was easy to imagine both a morning of sipping coffee and/or a party on the back porch.
Picture
The wrap-around porch ends at the far end of the home with a swinging door to the screened-in porch. The porch also overlooks the water and has a side door exit to a staircase that leads to the grass by the water's edge.

Did I forget to mention the most fascinating aspect of this home? It has a wine cellar. A small flight of rounded steps led me to the chilly brick room as if I was entering a secret passage. How cool would it be to have this in a house?

Lastly, an extensive album full of finely focused photos would be required to convey the passionate attention to detail shown off in this home. From the wood flooring to the spokes lining the staircase, there wasn't a single aspect of the home that could strike someone as an act of sheer laziness. Hard work and a constant desire to "walk the extra mile" transformed an empty piece of land into a mind blowing living space.

That's awesome!! Do you raise chickens for eggs or for the freezer? Never guess what I am building...a camper. I can honestly say that my favorite tool that Jeff owns is his impact drill. And the most valuable lesson I have learned is that you measure twice and cut once. :)

Chickens are for eggs. They are gross enough without actually eating them. I realize I am a bit behind in this blog but am determined to catch up with this stuff. Best of luck with RV. I question its roadworthiness however.

The addition Dave has been putting on our home is 99.9% finished. While quite routine when compared to this gorgeous lake house, no detail was done haphazardly or without allowing for our customization. This team is talented, thorough and pleasant to "live with" during the remodeling project.

We have to learn so much about the lake homes completion. The company builders has shared the instructions and essay for all of them. They are trying to get new stories and reviews from this website.

It's one of those things that gives you butterflies in you stomach, like opening a big Christmas present. It is an essential part of life and most people will go through it at one point.

Cabinetry may cost anywhere from 30% to 40% of the total cost of a kitchen makeover. Consider painting them rather than replacing them if you like their position and functioning but the finish is dark or dreary. It's a time-consuming but manageable DIY project, and your pocketbook will thank you. Even hiring a professional painter will be a fraction of the cost of new bespoke cabinets.

I started working in the construction field in 1988 as an independent carpenter. McArdle & Co. was formed in 1996 as a general contracting company specializing in home restoration. To stay small and hands on, I want my company to always provide top quality in a clean and timely manner. I hope this page gives you a unique, personal look into some of my current projects.
